I decided to take time away from promoting Mixxtape 21 to learn more about the incident in CT and what really went on. As I sit back and look at the Atlanta news (Fox 5) I hear nothing but bad news. Turn the channel to CBS, ABC, C-Span, CNN, any channel where we should be receiving statements and reports of progression in our society and world in general; alas, we're delivered the worst of news that doesn't sound real enough to be true, but happens nonetheless. Shit is absolutely crazy man. Friday was a day the us as parents, children, families and friends all came together and mourned as a tragic incident took place in Newtown, CT at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
There are absolutely no words that can express the compassion and sympathy that we at Atlas Studios have for the families that experienced losses last Friday. Myself as a father took a bi of time to think if my son was in that situation, in that classroom or in that hallway that day... I can't even fathom a logical thought for what I'd be feeling or going through, especially so close to Christmas. I just hate the fact that this happened, but even more because so many young souls were taken away from this Earth so early.
I feel like this: don't wait until tragedy strikes to start caring and showing love. If you haven't noticed, this world isn't exactly how we remember it 10-15 years ago, and we have no one to blame but ourselves. The selfish intentions, jealous actions, hateful thoughts and overall evil that thrives so heavily in our society is a result of truly not giving a fuck. Forgive me if I'm offensive, but our government continues to sit by on a daily basis and feed us like after lie, whether it be the fiscal cliff or who killed Bob Marley. Shit gets real and in a hurry when so many people are going on rampages and destroying lives while our government officials watch us do their jobs by providing the depopulation of our human race.
You know, it's funny because as I type this, I question whether you'll actually gain something from this post and make a change in your life. Whether it be big or small, noticeable or invisible, do something that can impact the world in a major way... For the better. You gotta know that unless we as a United States, a United people, and United world stand up for a brighter future, there are more dark days lurking over the horizon. Be safe and show love, D.R.P.
