What's goin' on world?!?!? Let me be the first to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and ya loved ones. We've made it to another Christmas season and we should go out of our way to do something nice for someone else this year. It's really something we should practice on a daily basis but society is twisted as fuck so we only give when it's time to...so consider it time. Quite a few highlights of my year happened this month, so in case you hadn't been paying attention to any of the other posts, here's a briefing... although it's more like an after briefing because it already happened, but yeah check it out.
First of all, ya boy D.R.P. has made hip hop history with the release of the highly anticipated mixtape "Mixxtape 21" which was originally due to be released December 20th, but due to technical issues, was released December 23rd via SoundCloud (get it here for free @http://goo.gl/D7ml4). This project is my pride and joy aside from my son, with over a year and a half of grueling recording, re-editing and vigorous mixing sessions on a daily basis. You guys showed love like nobody saw coming, with people sending Facebook messages truly on the edge of their seats awaiting the arrival of MXTP21.
I truly appreciate the support from everyone on this project. It was always fun to listen to the fans' comments and suggestions on songs I should use or dump, different concepts to build on and the overall enthusiasm of being involved in an artist/fan relationship on a personal basis. I remember talking to a guy that soon became a good friend named Drew Jex who lives in Canada around the time that I started working on Mixxtape 21. He is a true fan of D.R.P. and me as an artist. He told me when shit was good and when shit sucked. I needed exactly that. The weed songs were more his style, so out came the hit smokers' song "Mary Anne" which is soon to be available on iTunes, Google Play Store and your local radio station in early 2013. Just an example of how I as an artist actually give a damn about the people who listen to my music.
It's been a hell of a ride so far and I owe it all to yall, so keep blogging, tweeting, sharing and posting because as a unit, we'll take over the world. It's family over everything and I consider yall to be family and a part of my circle, so your always good at Atlas. Well I gotta go finish wrapping these gifts for my son, so yall have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday, and like I said, give to someone who's less fortunate than you this year because not everyone will be looking forward to tomorrow morning. Later days, D.R.P.
